I've been reading a few forums and blogs about Google Adsense tips lately, and thought it would be helpful to consolidate as many as possible in one place without the comments. I've also thrown in a few tips of my own. We start out with some of the basic general stuff and move to the more specific topics later on.
Build an Empire? When you're deciding to become a website publisher you will fall into one of two broad categories: - Publish 100 websites that each earn $1 a day profit
- Publish 1 website that earns $100 a day profit
The reality of it is, most people end up somewhere in between. Having 100 websites leaves you with maintenance, management and content issues. Having one website leaves you open to all sort of fluctuations (search engines algorithm's, market trends, etc). You can adapt your plan |

Perhaps one of the most common mistakes that I see bloggers making with the positioning of advertising is with regards to position. In fact this is not a unique thing for blogs or even just online advertising as effective advertising relies upon positioning in all of it's forms. This is why ads at Prime Time on TV, in the front pages of magazines and on the big billboards at busy intersections are in high demand (and are at a premium price). The theory is pretty simple (and logical) really - if you increase the number of people who see an ad you increase it's chances of converting (note that position isn't the only factor, as we'll explore later). A good question to ask yourself as you consider ad placement on your blog is 'w |

How do you make money from the Google Adsense Program? What AdSense Tips can you share with us? I have been asked this question so many times in the past few weeks that I thought I should write something on the topic. It seems increasingly bloggers want to try to cover their hosting and ISP costs with some revenue from their blog - and increasingly they're doing it and are able to make a few (or quite a lot) dollars on the side. Many are turning to Google's Adsense program. Covering costs of my Digital Photography Blog is why I originally signed up with Google Adsense - blogging can get expensive when |

Markus Frind is a Canadian entrepreneur who owns PlentyofFish.com, the world's largest online dating website. According to reports in 2006, he earned around $10,000 a day through Adsense's contextual advertising program.
According to a recent article [1], Plenty of Fish now receives 45 million visitors along with 1.1 billion pageviews every month.
His annual income from PlentyofFish.com alone is currently $5 to $10 million a year.
What is fascinating is that Markus Frind is a one-man show. He virtually ran Plenty of Fish by himself, along with help from his girlfriend and other voluntary moderators.
This is however, set to change as Markus has plans to gradually develop a team of 20 to 30 employees over the next few months.
Notes on Markus Frind and PlentyofFish.com
Two weeks ago, we did a case study of Ashley Qualls, a 17 year old girl who makes $70K a month from her Myspace layouts website. The story was inspirational for many and I've thought of doing a simil |
