Siri Ported to iPhone 4 – iPod Touch 4G Successfully

The latest in Apple news, beyond the iPhone 4S launch and sales numbers, is the port of Siri to the iPhone 4. Apple launched Siri as an iPhone 4S exclusive feature which they could to use to market the iPhone 4S with. This exclusivity set Steven Troughton-Smith on a journey to see if the technology could work on the iPhone 4, an endeavor many would confuse with a journey to allow all iPhone 4 users to hack Siri onto their devices. In previous weeks, Steven successfully got the user interface and basic functions of Siri running on the iPhone 4, but he had encountered a problem with Siri on the iPhone 4 communicating with Apple’s servers, the solution was the key to the use of Siri on the iPhone 4.

 

 

Now, Steven has brought Siri to the iPhone 4 fully operationally including what appears to be 100% communication with Apple’s servers. To fix the communication error, there was need for files from a jailbroken iPhone 4S, which with no public iPhone 4S jailbreak must have been quite a task, but Steven succeeded to get the files and get Siri operational.
